We all experience life-changing events. Sometimes they are things that happen to the world around us, such as 9/11, when President Kennedy was shot, the moon landing, the attack of Pearl Harbor. Other times it’s a much more personal nature. For me, it was four miscarriages, a near-fatal car accident that almost took off myContinue reading “Life Changing Events”

Gun Violence
There is so much going on in the world these days, so much loss and destruction from forest fires to earthquakes to hurricanes and especially a pandemic. These are natural-born events. But there are also man-made destruction events such as car accidents and plane crashes, building fires, mudslides, floods, and war. And the way weContinue reading “Gun Violence”
Young Writers
Illustory: Write and Illustrate a Professionally Produced Book I bought this years ago for my daughter when she was about 9. She died when she was 16 and I still have the book she wrote, illustrated, and published with this product. It’s now been 20 years since she died and I treasure this book. Memorial Day Reflections
We have been taught that “freedom isn’t free.” Therefore, we have to “fight” for it. The tragedy sparked a national debate aboutContinue reading “Columbine Tragedy”

“Right now is a difficult time for Black America. Last summer, we saw a massive wave of Black Lives Matter protests across the nation and an equally massive spotlight on systemic racism in policing—we called it a racial awakening. Then, in the midst of a nationally televised trial over the Black death that arguably sparkedContinue reading “Black Teen Fatally Shot by Tennessee Police. Too Many Deaths
Between mass shootings and black people being killed by police, you have to wonder why and what you can do about it. Guns and the easy access to get them are just partially to blame. But what is most to blame is attitudes. White supremacy, the selfishness of conservative Christians who are so far awayContinue reading “Too Many Deaths”

More people died in the FedEx shooting than got blood clots after the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. But when the vaccine showed a problem with a tiny percentage of people, it was immediately stopped. When guns showed a problem with a huge percentage of people, it’s completely ignored.
