30 Day Song Challenge: A Christmas Song with a Color in the Title

Oh, that’s easy.

White Christmas.

The movie of these same title is my number one favorite Christmas movie and it’s one of the first ones I watch every year. And every year I cry at the end.

The little ballerinas in red pointe shoes reminds me of my fascination with ballet, ballerina and toe shoes that has never left me.

Vera Ellen’s dancing.

Snow at Christmas, something we rarely get around here.

The bright red and white colors with the royal blue dusky sky in the background.

The comedy and the emotion. And yes, I said it before, but I always cry at the end.

Being Forced

There is a great line in an issue of New Yorker magazine:

“American political culture was bounded by a contest between reason and violence; a seesawing battle that continues to this day (from the Civil War in 1860), between the aspiration to persuade fellow citizens to accept your views to the raw instinct to force them to comply.”

In the 160 years since, Liberals (no matter what their party was called at the time) have tried to use reason, empathy, and compassion to convince people to support the things that would help the most citizens in the country. Conservatives have long held on to the “my way” attitude and used whatever they could to force people into abiding by their attitudes and behavior… from war to using politicians to gain entry into government to change laws to fit with their ideology; from a state religion to banning abortion. They were against the rights of women, people of color, and LGBTQ. They demanded prayer and Bibles in public schools, even if not everyone at that school was a Christian. If nothing has changed in the nearly 200 years and has only gotten worse with Donald Trump and his followers, it’s going to be difficult, if not impossible, to convince the conservative Southern Republicans to listen with reason and think with their hearts, let alone their heads.

TMI Tuesday: December 8, 2020: Sexual Feelings

1. Are women natural seducers or are men?

Men tend to be more aggressive, but women are taught to be seductive in the way we dress and act. Just pretend you don’t like it.

2. Which of the following statements most closely matches your sexual attitude?

a. Sex is best when you focus on your own pleasure.
b. Sex is best when I can totally meld with my partner and feel as one.
c. Sex is best when the purpose is that of conceiving a child.
d. Sex is just a behavior; don’t put too much importance on the act, just do it the way you like and need.

Actually, none of the above, as I tend to agree and disagree with them all. Sex is more than a behavior, it’s also an attitude. I think when you focus on your own pleasure, something most men have been taught to do, you both lose. I also think it’s hard to “meld” with your partner. I think it’s better where one person gets the pleasure first and then the other. And it’s sad if people believe that sex is only for procreation.

3. Do you need to feel emotionally connected to enjoy sex with another person?

It depends on the people involved. I can enjoy sex without being emotionally connected to my partner. Sometimes just enjoying sex for the sex is great. I can also be emotionally connected to someone without having sex.

4. Are you allowed to be sexual? Explain.

I am now. But for most of my life, I never felt like I could. Between the attitudes of my parents, and the teachings of society and church, women were just a vessel to carry a child, and sex was only required to get that child. According to the church, sex was dirty and women were not supposed to enjoy it, just endure the process; only men were entitled to enjoy it. My mother hated it and that was the message she gave me. I felt such guilt at enjoying it, what little I did enjoy. I craved it but always felt disappointed about how little I got from it. Where was that explosive orgasm I always heard about? I was 60 before I found out.

5. Agree or Disagree. Sex without love is meaningless.

Bonus: Conventional wisdom (but not research) says that women value monogamy more than men. Is this true for you?

No, it’s not true for me at all. I think we place way more value on marriage and monogamy than we should. I got married in the 70s because that was what you did then. People got married out of expectation and obligation for a variety of reasons, pressure from society, church, and/or parents. Some got married to have children or some because they were pregnant. None of those are good reasons to go into a marriage. These days, there were way too many people, especially women, who get married just to have a big blow out wedding. Definitely not a good reason. The only really good reason to get married is when both parties really want to be married and marriage can take so many forms, if for the right reasons.

Krampus, the God of Kink?

Until recently, Krampus was pretty much ignored by most Westerners, who just vaguely were aware that he was the partner of Saint Nicholas in many places in Europe. In America, St Nick, or Santa Claus pretty much worked alone.

But lately Krampus is becoming a legend all by himself. Some good, some not so good and some down right kinky.

Conservative Christians who have suddenly become aware of Krampus, see him as a demon, comparing him to Satan or at the very least the Pagan God of Pan. They only see evil in all three.

Pagans tend to see Krampus as the other half of “good and bad” or “right or wrong” or more likely, “light and dark”.

I was aware of Krampus, after growing up hearing about the Dutch Sinterklaas from my grandfather. But he was considered a minor character in the whole Christmas deal.

As I have been reading up on various Christmas traditions and have been learning more about Krampus, I’m now seeing him a whole new light.

Krampus with his chains and his birch branches for whipping and that long red tongue hanging out, I have, without any doubts, that Krampus is the original God of Kink.

Apparently I’m not alone since Deviantsuccubus wrote an erotic story about Krumpus https://deviantsuccubus.com/2019/12/krampus-erotica/, entitled “Krampus And The Naughty Girl”… I encourage you to go and read it.

So now I am imagining what it might be like to be chained up to an old damp brick dungeon (and it’s not the first time I’ve imagined this… a few years ago I started writing a story about a Red Riding Hood type character who is chained to a dungeon by a werewolf, I must have a one track mind)…. Naked in my chains, waiting to see what awaits me, when a terrifying “half-goat, half-demon” is suddenly standing before me, the birch branches slowly swishing in the air, until one tip lightly meets my erect nipple. It is more of a shock than it is of pain, and highly arousing. How angry I feel to be betrayed by my body like this, when I should be feeling anger or fear, not feeling turned on and wishing for more…

There are gold shackles around both ankles and both wrists with matching chains between them. The ones at my feet are hooked to the wall to keep my feet spread apart and the ones at my wrists are hooked by the chain at a hook above my head. I can pull and tug at my bonds but I am virtually his prisoner and that excites me even more.

And then I see that long red tongue. My imagination is running wild wondering what he might be able to do with that… And apparently Krampus loves it when you beg. I use to have a Dom like that.

“Okay, wench, on your knees..” and I know what is coming next. Will it be as long as his tongue?

If you want to learn more about Krampus I suggest these checking out these links:

Recipe of the Day: Cheeseburger Meatballs with Fry Sauce

I decided to share these, although they are not my own creation or a history of having them in my life, but the first time I tried them I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I love tator tots with fry sauce and these meatballs are like an upgrade to those.

Cheeseburger Meatballs with Fry Sauce

Cheeseburger Meatballs
1 lb. 80% lean ground beef
1 large egg
3 T. chopped sweet pickles
3 T. Heinz ketchup
1 T. mustard
1 tsp. liquid smoke
1 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
1 c. panko bread crumbs
1 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Fry Sauce
1/4 c. mayonnaise
2 T. Heinz ketchup
1 T. sweet pickle juice

Preheat your oven to 375 F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil, and spray a wire rack with nonstick cooking spray. Place the wire rack over the aluminum foil; set aside.
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, egg, pickles, ketchup, mustard, liquid smoke, onion powder, salt, and pepper. I just use my hands to mix it.
Add the bread crumbs and cheddar cheese, and mix until incorporated. Again, I just use my hands to mix it.
Using a medium cookie scoop (1 ½ tablespoons), scoop out meatballs.
Roll into balls, and place on wire rack.
Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until done in the center.
While the meatballs are baking, make the fry sauce.
In a small dish, stir together mayonnaise, ketchup, and pickle juice.
Serve meatballs with sauce for dipping.
Makes 27 meatballs.

Nine Favorite Things Dec 7, 2020

Eggnog ~ I have a special way of making a very easy eggnog beverage. A scoop of vanilla ice cream in a tall cup, fill up 2/3 the way of commercial dairy eggnog and top off with some 7up and sprinkle with a bit of nutmeg.

Holiday Traditions ~ I love remembering old traditions and learning about new traditions

My Egyptian Chess Set ~ I made this ceramic chess set in 1975 and I don’t even know how to play chess! But I love the Egyptian symbols that it uses.

Zoom ~ I was well familiar with Skype and that has always been a lot of fun, but Zoom took it to another level for me.

Christmas Trees ~ I’m like Kevin in the movie “Home Alone”… I love Christmas trees. In the past I had as many as 8 decorated trees all over the house. This year I have two small ones. As long as the lights work, I’m happy.

I would love to have a simple dinner party using just soups and salads; French onion soup, tomato bisque and broccoli cheese along with broccoli Salad, green tossed salad and cold noodle salad. Then I would add a Christmas themed charcuterie board and a matching candy board.

Unable to Find Where I Found This Image, But Isn’t It Gorgeous?

Candles in the Window ~ This year I have battery operated candles in each front window. The candles come on when it gets dark and go off when the sun comes up. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G5L1L8V/

Chinese take out ~ I don’t even miss going to for dinner as long as I can get take out.

Massage chair and Bluetooth ~ I call this my astronaut chair… it reclines back to zero gravity where my feet are higher than my head (to make my doctors happy), and I have the Bluetooth on from my phone so I can listen to music, guided meditation, podcasts and audible books and then topped with my heated blanket to make me happy. I often fall asleep.
