Bloguarany 6 Who is someone that inspires you and why?
Two people have been my lifelong inspirations.
One is Elizabeth Taylor. She used her talent and beauty to do things the way she wanted to do them. It took her awhile to rebel against those who wanted to control and direct her in the way they thought she should go. Instead she rebelled against those directions, and against society rules. She loved who she wished. She married who she wanted. She divorced when the marriage no longer served her needs. She inspired fashion. Gave to charities and causes that touched her.

The other is Frank Sinatra. He not only did things his way, he even sang a song about it. Sinatra was considered ruthless in his life and many believe he was a member of the Mafia. But I loved his music and his movies. Like Elizabeth Taylor, he was married multiple times, although Elizabeth Taylor won that contest with 7 marriages to Frank Sinatra’s four. I kind of liked that they didn’t take marriage all that seriously.
I loved the character’s he play in fun movies like Anchor’s Aweigh, Take Me Out to the Ballgame, On the Town, From Here to Eternity, Young At Heart, Guys and Dolls, Tender Trap, High Society, and Can-Can.

I loved Elizabeth Taylor in movies such as National Velvet, Father of the Bride and Father’s Little Dividend, Cat on a Hot Tin Root, Little Women, Giant, The Taming of the Shrew, and especially Cleopatra.
These both seem like odd choices to provide inspiration for a little nine year old girl, but for me they lived the way I wished I could have.
