Bloguarany 5 What is something you wish you knew how to do?

When I was a kid, my grandmother bought us a piano, that was put in the basement. I wanted to learn how to play, but my sister got lessons instead. I did learn which notes went with which keys, but I never learned about where the fingers went to play cords. So I just plunked on the piano pretending I know what I was doing. Years later I even had an electric keyboard that connected to my computer so you could learn to play the piano from an online teaching site. But I was so busy, I never had the time to consistently learn and practice.

Piano music is my favorite because I imagine what it would be like to play that kind of music myself. Musicians like Rachmaninoff, but also Jim Brickman, Kevin Kern, David Lanz, George Winston, Danny Wright, and yes, even Yanni. I’ve also wanted to learn to play the harp and the cello. Tina Guo is my favorite cellist.
