1. With whom would you love to sing a duet?

No question… it would be Frank Sinatra.

2. Have you ever cried over a pet? What kind?

In my 70 years on this planet, I’ve had over two dozen cats who called my house home. I was always sad when any of them died, but the hardest one was when my cat, Alex, died. Her full name was Princess Alexandria, but she was Alex for short. We took in a stray that we also named Princess, just princess because she acted like one. We didn’t know she was pregnant at the time. On August 1st of that year, Princess gave birth to five female kittens. Three days later, we found Alex dead in our backyard. I cried for days.

3. Do you think your personality needs polishing? Why?

No, I am what I am. A little shiny, a little glitzy, a little tarnished, a little rusty, a little crusty. But all of them put together make me who I am and not embarrassed by that.

4. What is the worst injury you’ve ever had?

The one, or ones that I’m still battling after nearly 40 years. First, it was a compound fracture caused by a car accident. I was told I would lose my leg, and then I was told I would never walk again. They were wrong about both. Then I had a cancer tumor on the outside of my leg right where the break was, and I had radiation therapy for it. Then I had a second tumor just below that and had chemotherapy to treat it. Over time my leg became weaker, and I had to use a cane and then a walker. I had to stop driving, and then I developed Lymphedema, first in the bad leg and then both legs. I now need a wheelchair to get around when I leave home. It’s the injury that keeps on giving.

5. If you had a clone, what part or your life or tasks would you have it do on your behalf?

My pain and disability.

Bonus: Gifting supermarket flowers–good or bad?

Not the best choice, but better than no gift at all. However, I would arrange the flowers nicely in a beautiful vase and give two candles with candleholders.

  1. The story of Alex is devastating. But you were there for her to deliver her babies.

    3. Well put

Your body has been through so much. But clearly you are a fighter who can find positivity in situations, which goes a long way to bolstering health.

    5. Amen.

Wishing you well, and a happy, healthier New Year. As always thanks for sharing at TMI Tuesday blog.
