Krampus, the God of Kink?

Until recently, Krampus was pretty much ignored by most Westerners, who just vaguely were aware that he was the partner of Saint Nicholas in many places in Europe. In America, St Nick, or Santa Claus pretty much worked alone.

But lately Krampus is becoming a legend all by himself. Some good, some not so good and some down right kinky.

Conservative Christians who have suddenly become aware of Krampus, see him as a demon, comparing him to Satan or at the very least the Pagan God of Pan. They only see evil in all three.

Pagans tend to see Krampus as the other half of “good and bad” or “right or wrong” or more likely, “light and dark”.

I was aware of Krampus, after growing up hearing about the Dutch Sinterklaas from my grandfather. But he was considered a minor character in the whole Christmas deal.
