I’ve seen the original trilogy and Episode I (sadly). I’m not familiar with the other movies though. Also, thanks for checking out my Top 7 ripoff list and for following my film review blog!

No problem. What aspects from that post did you find the most interesting?

Just learning about all of the different productions that lifted the ideas from other sources and were so blatant about it.

Gotcha. Just wondering. Some of these I didn’t know until last year or a couple of years ago. Discovering Kimba the White Lion a few years back was very eye-opening to me with how blatant Disney’s thievery was when it came to characters, some scenes, and even some of the plot points.

That surprised me too.. I had no idea. Pretty sad, I enjoyed that movie.

I hear you right there. I used to love that movie when I was a kid, but not so much anymore with that blatant thievery, the stealing of “Mbube”, the trademark issue, and even the depiction of the hyenas once I became an adult.

There was also the obvious racism.

Sorry for missing this comment. I was definitely referring to the hyenas with the racist implications. Some Disney fans excuse it by mentioning James Earl Jones being Mufasa (double appropriate since this was a Star Wars post), but that’s a strawman. It’s the same thing as a racist in denial saying they have Black friends.
