The Spoon Theory written by Christine Miserandino

I have dealt with chronic pain since 1987 when I was in a car accident, which left me with a compound fracture, crushed heel, and broken ankle. I now have a metal rod in my leg from knee to ankle. First, they told me my leg was going to be amputated, and when that didn’t happen was told I would never walk again. I did… for thirty years after the accident, but with a lot of pain. Getting cancer and treatments just increased the pain levels.
Now I am not able to walk very well or very far. I can’t remember when I first read the Spoon Theory, but I’ve used it ever since. It helps others to understand.

“Please take the time to read Christine Miserandino’s personal story and analogy of what it is like to live with sickness or disability.”
