
“You are not guilty of being white, but if you are white and do not act to redress the crimes the system commits against people of color, you are guilty of participating in their oppression. Blame is not the same as responsibility. Responsibility literally means the ability to respond. In other words, to do something about it when we see wrongness. We can take responsibility in many different ways, but the most important one is to become and stay informed, so that we can make wiser, more compassionate decisions.”
