TMI Tuesday: March 23, 2021: I Owe, I Owe, It’s Off To Work I Go

1. What was your first job?

My very first job was babysitting for the whopping pay of 35 cents an hour. But my first official job was selling Skipper Pins for Seafair in Seattle. The pins cost a dollar and I got to keep 50 cents of that dollar. But my first REAL was when I was a junior in high school, when I worked in a soda fountain as the ice cream girl, where I made milkshakes, ice cream cones and sundaes. My first job after high school was as a long distance telephone operator for Pacific Northwest Bell in Seattle. I stayed in that job for 8 years until I transferred to another department.

2. In your next life what will be your job?

A healer. I’m convinced this is why I have so many health issues.

3. What’s a favorite item in your workspace and why?

I have been retired for 21 years, so now my workspace is for personal use. My favorite items includes my big brown teddy bear zero gravity recliner, my desktop, my laptop, my cell phone, my TV and my heated blanket.

4. What can you not stop thinking about?

My health, pain and how much longer I’m likely to live. My health is going downhill fast and I’m trying to hang on. While my body is rusting, my brain is still sharp.

5. What are you holding on to that you cannot let go– a person, a show, an item, a career, a book–anything?

Everything. I’m afraid if I throw something away, I’ll need it. I have OCD with a compulsion to collect and save things I feel are important… mostly family history information. I don’t save garbage and I’m not a hoarder, at least not like the ones you see on TV.

Bonus: Do you have a Twitter problem?

No… does Twitter have a problem? It’s much nicer now that Trump as been banned. But I still get trolled by conservative Christians who feel they need to save my godless soul. I guess they get more points if they try to convert an Atheist. No, thanks… been there, done that.

  1. 1. A great mix of jobs. Soda fountain job sounds yummy and fun.

    4. Sending healing vibes your way, positive thoughts and strength, and wishing you well.

    5. Thank you for sharing your mind and thoughts with us. Good stuff.

The things you save hold so many memories or the the transport you back to a different space and time. I get that.

Have a wonderful rest of your week.
